After breakfast we left St. Louis and headed west towards Lebanon. We had to take the I-44 for a short distance but once we got to Pacific, Missouri, we were able to get back on old Route 66 which twisted and turned with the contours of the forested hills as we climbed into the Ozark Mountains. The road criscrossed the Interstate many times as we followed the old Route.
We stopped for lunch in Cuba, Missouri which is famous for murals painted on walls all over the town.
We stopped in Fanning, Missouri to see the world's largest rocking chair at the Old Outpost.
We continued on through beautiful countryside in glorious sunshine until we arrived in Lebanon.
